Martin Bookspan interviewed Stokowski in Nether Wallop England about his conducting the Mahler Symphony no. 8 for the first time in Philadelphia and New York with the Philadelphia Orchestra; and the April 1950 performance of the same symphony with the New York Philharmonic. They also discuss Stokowski's recordings in England of Sibelius's Symphony no. 1 and The Swan of Tuonela.
